Sunshine Ace Hardware is pleased to announce that its president, Michael Wynn was recently recognized for his exemplary personal accomplishments, outstanding professional achievements and heartening humanitarian service, earning the prestigious “Alumni of Distinction Award” presented by the Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) Alumni Association during its 2018 Alumni Awards Ceremony.

The Alumni of Distinction, the highest and most prestigious recognition bestowed by the FGCU Alumni Association, is awarded yearly to one graduate who has distinguished themselves professionally and personally and has demonstrated sincere dedication to their alma mater.

A native of Naples, Wynn, who graduated from FGCU in 2005 with a master’s in business administration, truly stands as a model for his dedication to his industry, employees and community, upholding the tradition of FGCU excellence through his exemplary leadership and accomplishments. Wynn has led his family’s chain of Ace Hardware stores since 2005, continuing the company’s tradition of focusing on its model customer service, remarkable employee development initiatives and philanthropic community efforts.

As a local family-owned business, Sunshine Ace Hardware cares deeply about the progression of its employees and the community that has supported the company for many years. Scott Hamblen, chief merchandising officer for Sunshine Ace Hardware, believes that FGCU’s recognition shows the continued success of Sunshine Ace leadership, and the foundation that Sunshine Ace was built on: a strong company culture and a focus on customer service and community involvement.

“Michael Wynn is a phenomenal example of a leader who has grown exponentially in both his personal and professional life, and it is amazing that he is being recognized for his accomplishments by his alma mater,” Hamblen said. “We are so proud and honored to have a business leader that continues to set and exceed his personal and professional aspirations, and continuously seeks ways to give back to the community. Michael not only seeks ways to honor our company’s founding pillars professionally but, he also seeks ways to embed them into his personal life, and that is certainly a phenomenal leader, one so deserving of this recognition.”
