Sunshine Ace Hardware raised $6,289 through its annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Miracle Bucket Sale initiative to enhance pediatric health care in the region.

During the three-day event, held Aug. 4-6, customers could donate $5 or more to Children’s Miracle Network in exchange for a five-gallon CMN Ace Hardware bucket. Sunshine Ace then offered a 20% discount on nearly everything that customers could fit inside of their bucket.

“Oftentimes, customers stumble upon the CMN Miracle Bucket Sale when they enter one of our stores, but this year, so many generous individuals, couples and families specifically came to Sunshine Ace Hardware just to make a donation,” said Sunshine Ace Hardware President Michael Wynn. “They recognize that their donation stays right here in the community to help local children, and wanted to do their part to help out such an important cause.”

Donations to the Children’s Miracle Network help cover the costs of patient services for children and families, charitable care for patients lacking sufficient funds or insurance, and education programs for patients, families and the community. Donations also allow hospitals to purchase life-saving equipment and provide advancement services for innovative programs and projects.

Donations at Sunshine Ace Hardware stores in Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties support Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, while donations at Sunshine Ace Hardware and Crowder Bros. Ace Hardware stores in Pinellas and Manatee counties support Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg.

Since declaring Children’s Miracle Network as its primary charitable partner three years ago, Sunshine Ace Hardware has raised $294,561 through a series of fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
