The 3rd annual Sunshine Ace Hardware Big Green EGGFest will bring barbecue-lovers and chefs to Bonita Springs on April 4 as a new EGGhead Grill Master is crowned.

EGGFest is a family-friendly celebration of barbecue and the art of grilling on Big Green Egg Grills, and features live music, grilling demonstrations, all-you-can-eat samplings, craft beer from Bone Hook Brewery, special offers and prizes for the best amateur and professional chefs.

Amateur and pro chefs will cook meats, vegan and gluten-free culinary dishes on a Big Green Egg, a versatile ceramic charcoal barbecue cooker that works as a grill, oven or smoker.

Taster tickets are available in advance for $20 online at FarmCityBBQ.com/Big-Egg-Fest and at any Sunshine Ace store in Southwest Florida, or $25 at the door on the day of the event, and include unlimited samples, three voting ballots and one ticket for beer, wine or soda. Children ages 10 and under are free.

Online ticketing offers the option to direct proceeds to one of five local youth-focused charities partnering with Farm City Barbeque Charities for EGGFest: Collier County 4-H Association, Collier County Junior Deputies League, Rotary Club of Naples, Kiwanis Club of Greater Collier and Youth Leadership Collier.

Chefs also can purchase tickets in advance and enter as individuals or teams. The cost is $25 for amateur competitors and $150 for professional chefs. Each participant or team will receive a Big Green Egg gift bag and have an opportunity to earn the honorary title of 2020 EGGhead Grill Master of the Year. The winning pro will receive a MiniMax Big Green Egg, while the first-, second- and third-place amateur winners will receive gift card prize packages provided by Sunshine Ace.

Big Green EGGFest will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 at Riverside Park, 10451 Old 41 Road in downtown Bonita Springs.

During its first two years, Sunshine Ace’s EGGFest has raised a combined $55,000 to support local nonprofit organizations in Collier and Lee counties.
