More than 1,000 Southwest Florida residents joined Sunshine Ace Hardware for its first Big Green EGGfest held on June 2, raising $25,000 to benefit five local nonprofit organizations. In partnership with Farm City BBQ, Sunshine Ace Hardware donated the proceeds from the event to Youth Leadership Collier, Collier County 4-H Association, Collier County Junior Deputies League, Northside Naples Kiwanis Club, and The Morning Rotary Club of Bonita Springs.

“It was such a pleasure hosting our first Big Green EGGfest and being able to offer another fun family-friendly event for the community to enjoy,” said Michael Wynn, Sunshine Ace Hardware president. “For 60 years, Sunshine Ace Hardware has given back to the community through various events, programming and volunteer opportunities. This first-time event wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our amazing associates and the generous Southwest Florida community, and for that, we say thank you.”

Throughout the day, food enthusiasts enjoyed grilling demonstrations, music, special promotions and a Big Green Egg raffle. In addition, EGGfest participants sampled the culinary creations of 14 chefs competing in the event’s grilling competition to name the 2018 EGGhead Grill Master. PBS Contracting won the grilling competition with delicious barbecue cooked on the Big Green Egg, earning the coveted title and a Big Green Egg MiniMax.

“Farm City BBQ is proud to grow with our community partners and look for new ways to support our participating nonprofit charities,” said Cyndee Woolley, executive director of Farm City BBQ. “We look forward to many successful years in partnering with Sunshine Ace Hardware on the Big Green EGGfest.”

Sunshine Ace Hardware’s inaugural Big Green EGGfest sponsors included: First Florida Integrity Bank, Naples Daily News, PBS Contractors, NCH Healthcare System, McDonald & Osbourne, P.A., Pure Florida, Baldwin Krystyn Sherman Partners, Bone Hook Brewing Co., Coleman, Hazzard, & Taylor, P.A., CRS Technology Consultants, Farm City BBQ, Naples Lumber & Supply, and The City of Bonita Springs.
