In the wake of Hurricane Irma, the Wynn Family, owners of Sunshine Ace Hardware, Wynn’s Properties, Wynn’s Market and Wynn’s Catering have partnered with the Community Foundation of Collier County (CFCC) to establish the Wynn Family Hurricane Irma Short-Term Disaster Relief Fund. The relief fund will provide monetary support to any employees of Sunshine Ace Hardware and Wynn’s Family Market. The Wynn Family provided the initial funding, and accommodations were made to allow associates and vendor partners to make contributions to the relief fund.

“The Community Foundation is playing a significant role in helping Collier County families recover after the significant impact of Irma. I couldn’t think of a better partner to work with in providing much-needed relief funds to our associates in the wake of the storm,” said Michael Wynn, Sunshine Ace Hardware president. “Many of our associates were back to work 24 hours after the eye of the storm passed, ready to unload trucks and provide supplies and services to help our community recover. They inspired us with their commitment and passion to serve and this is an important step in supporting them and their families as they face expensive repairs to their homes.”

Sunshine Ace Hardware has more than 300 employees across its eight locations in downtown Naples, East Naples, Golden Gate, Bonita Springs, San Carlos, Marco Island, Port Charlotte and Largo. Wynn’s Family Market has more than 200 employees at its Naples store, located at 141 Ninth St. N.

“The Community Foundation is thrilled to partner with the Wynn Family to ensure the employee’s needs are met after this horrific disaster,” said Eileen Connolly-Keesler, Community Foundation of Collier County president and CEO.

The CFCC has been actively addressing the vital needs of the community in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. The CFCC Short-Term Relief Fund allows local companies to support their employees with emergency funding on a short-term basis. The fund is designed to provide relief quickly to employees facing financial hardships in the wake of a natural disaster.
